Rock Solid Logo & Flyer Design

Sometimes, a project lands in your lap that’s just perfect for you. This was one of those instances. I had the opportunity to work with Think Pro Graphics and Printing Solution, located in Tempe, Arizona. Our client was a local church in need of engaging graphics, flyers, and banners for a children’s Vacation Bible School program organized by Christ’s Life Church, also situated in Tempe and Casa Grande.

The project was handed off to me with some initial ideas. They wanted cartoon characters that related to the program, laid out as a logo that would appeal to children.

Upon receiving the mission, I dug deep into my childhood memories, recalling the fun cartoons that I grew up with. I tapped into my inner child to create some fun-loving characters. The challenge was to ensure that the text accompanying these characters would stand out and not be overshadowed by the cartoon drawings.

This logo was a blend of different techniques using Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I used Illustrator to lay the foundation of the text. Them I used Photoshop to texture and color. The cartoon characters were illustrated by me. It was a delicate balance between creating an eye-catching design and ensuring the message wasn’t lost amidst the vibrant illustrations.

I was told that these print materials and flyers were a success. They were loved by both the children and staff. Anytime I get to use my God-given gift for illustrating with a pencil, it’s always a blessing to me.
